Some people think that
Freedom is a luxury.
Some people think that
Freedom isn't where its at.
But people let me tell you:
Your freedom is the only thing you've got.

If you don't have your freedom,

Some people think they
Shouldn't do their 'own thing'.
Some people think there's
Nothing they can do.
But people, come and tell me:
If you don't do your 'own thing',
Who's think will you do?

If you don't have your 'own thing',
Then you don't have yourself.
If you don't have yourself,
What have you got?

Some people think they
Have to follow someone else.
Some people think blind
Imitation's where it's at.
But people, let me tell you:
You've gotta open your eyes
To find out where its at.

If you follow your own heart,
Then you will be happy.
If you follow your own heart,
You will be free.
