The River of my Heart

If you would fill your pitcher, come down here,
down to the sweet, clear waters of my heart.
Its waves will laugh and ripples
     whisper 'round your gentle feet,
In the river, the river of my heart.

If you would rather sit upon the shore,
beside the cool, fresh waters of my heart.
The grass is velvet, and flowers
blossom under a dark blue sky,
By the river, the river of my heart.
Because my heart is like a river,
as it rushes to the sea.
And our love is like an ocean,
where the rivers of our hearts find unity.

If you would rather bathe, plunge in here,
into the deep, still waters of my heart.
Its waves caress your body and
refresh your soul as ripples laugh and cry,
In the river, the river of my heart.

If you would journey far, then come set sail,
upon the wide, endless waters of my heart.
No need to bring along your earthly cares;
     leave them on the shore,
Of the river, the river of my heart.
From every heart there flows a river,
     ever rushing to the sea.
And all love is like an ocean,
where the rivers of all hearts find unity.
