Softly

I dream a dream and find myself somewhere
Beyond the strands of always and nowhere,
And there it seems I hear your voice calling me...

softly

I venture out in search of you, finding
That through the haze a path goes unwinding,
And all about, your voice keeps calling me...

softly

What tongue could tell of the times I was tried?
One step from hell, one step from your side,
And deep within, these words kept echoing...

softly
Dark upon brightness, our life's patterns draw.
Wrong upon rightness, reveal us the law.
Two bodies imperfect, one love without flaw.
Our hearts are united, in wonder and awe.

Then all at once I find I am there.
You stand before me, sunlight in your hair.
Your arms are open, your voice is calling me...

softly

I struggle forth and reach out to embrace you,
But now my touch seems only to erase you.
I grab the air; you're not there, and I tumble down...

softly

What tongue could tell of the times I have cried?
One step from hell, one step from your side,
And deep within, these words kept echoing...

softly
Dark upon brightness, our life's patterns draw.
Wrong upon rightness, reveal us the law.
Two bodies imperfect, one love without flaw.
Our hearts are united, in wonder and awe.

And then I wake and find you're not here,
And down my cheek there rolls a silent tear.
But still it seems I hear your voice calling me...

softly

I venture out in search of you, finding
That through the haze a path goes unwinding.
